People celebrate Independence Day in many different ways. There are parades, fireworks, music, picnics, travel and family gatherings. I have participated in all of those at one time or another. On this day, at home, we celebrated quietly and thoughtfully with the appreciation that we are free to do as we please - even nothing of consequence. Woefully, like the beauty of the afternoon sun carving a path through the trees in the lush forest, it is something we take very much for granted.
